Are excited for this movie?? It’s been a long time since I’ve heard the phrase: “Hi-Yo, Silver!”
From producer Jerry Bruckheimer and director Gore Verbinski, the filmmaking team behind the blockbuster “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, comes Disney/Jerry Bruckheimer Films’ “The Lone Ranger,” a thrilling adventure infused with action and humor, in which the famed masked hero is brought to life through new eyes. Native American warrior Tonto recounts the untold tales that transformed John Reid, a man of the law, into a legend of justice—taking the audience on a runaway train of epic surprises and humorous friction as the two unlikely heroes must learn to work together and fight against greed and corruption.
Broward Saves Movie Reviewer got a chance to see the early release and check out his take on The Lone Ranger:
Armie Hammer plays the Lone Ranger, a lovable hero with the unbreakable moral code and Johnny Depp comes in as the iconic Tonto, his hilarious spacey sidekick who always speaks in choppy punch lines and never skips a beat. The film progresses as the pair track down William Fitchner, who plays the cannibalistic mass murdering villain Butch Canvendish.
As the first of what I suspect to be another Disney adventure saga, there’s a lot of setup and introduction, which can be a little tedious at times, but the story moves along nicely as Depp provides most of the comic relief in key moments.
Watching Armie’s character evolve throughout the film is quite a treat. Having him go from a paper pushing lawyer to a real American Hero while developing a strong relationship with Depp and his incredibly humanlike white horse Silver is very endearing.
The Lone Ranger premieres nationwide TODAY yay!
